This Erard grand piano was built in London in 1868. It is a straight strung grand piano. This means that the bass strings are not crossed over the steel strings but run parallel to them. The grand piano does have the famous double repetition action as invented by Erard which still is the standard for any modern grand piano today.
The cabinet is veneered with rosewood.
The keyboard has 85 keys with the original ivory key tops. Of course, the instrument has a EU-certificate issued by the Dutch CITES agency.
This grand piano needs to be restored.
